PEN/FAULKNER LITERARY CONVERSATIONS
In late 2018, I was asked by a periodic collaborator, if I would be interested in creating unique branding for the Pen/Faulkner Foundations Literary Conversation series. What I thought was going to only be a one-season engagement turned into a four-year relationship.
With the Conversation topics ranging from Storied History, Afrofuturism, TRANSitional Writing, Crisis, Fantastic Women, to Finding Home, Crisis, and Literature on Screen, to name but a few — the design needed to have a set lock-up that would be the constant across all the needed final outputs.
Utilizing the idea of print media as the basis for all the designs, I created a lock-up that would be utilized as the header for all work, much like you would see on a print magazine. At the same time, I worked to do justice to the topic of the conversation itself while also making for an intriguing digital backdrop for the event itself.
