The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows
Long before it was a real book, I came across the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, a website set up by John Koenig. I fell for the words that Mr. Koenig had created, so I did what anyone would do: I made a physical dictionary of all the words that were online at the time.
The plan was to create volumes, each with the latest words created in between volumes. To add heft to the overall book and make it feel like an old dictionary, each word was given its own spread, and then each page was French folded to add depth and weight to the book. The cover has black text on black paper to make the title a bit more obscured, and a tracing paper dust jacket added a bit of obscurity to the title printed on the front of the book.
