On Location: California Biennial ’08
I was never a big fan of school field trips, but I had a unique opportunity during my undergraduate years at the University of Southern California. For an art history class, we could spend a weekend in Joshua Tree, California, helping out with the California Biennial. The school covered our room and transportation, so why not? I'd never been to Joshua Tree, and earning extra credit sounded enticing. In just 48 hours, I fell in love with Joshua Tree. I experienced incredible art, contributed to a successful event, and was soaked in the stunning beauty of the desert. How often do you see a Lion Man vacuuming a carpet in the middle of a dried lake bed? Here are some candid photographs I took during that memorable trip.
