Most Best Way Back | Postcard Set

I set out to create a set of postcards as an addition to a novel. Each card would represent the town and state from which it was picked up.

Since the postcards are part of a story about a road trip, I decided to incorporate a luggage tag as a visual link. The tags and postcards symbolize the cities featured in the book. While the narrative is fictional, each town is based on real locations. I conducted research to find meaningful ways to represent each city.

The numbers on the postcards not only connect back to the luggage tag concept but also serve as the area codes for each city. Plus they subtly indicate the order in which the postcard and its corresponding city appear in the book.

Additionally, I created a corresponding set of postmarks to give the postcards the appearance of having been sent to a character in the story at the time they were produced.
