TEDx UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH
Solution – Working with two other graphic designers and an illustrator we each came up with ideas to best represent the name of the event. From there we worked to refine and make the graphics into a cohesive and prominent aspect of the branding. Using the idea that students usually are “thinking in abundance,” we decided to create a head and icons to represent as many of the different subjects within the university as possible. Using the head as the nucleus, we had the icons orbiting around it. That idea and theme were carried out throughout the event by way of animations, directional posters, t-shirts/hoodies, and the event program itself.
In addition to using the head and the icons as the central theme and branding, the design came up to create secondary posters that showcased graduates of the university who have surely thought in abundance. Creating portraits of them out of some of their most famous works. These secondary posters where used to generate buzz and interest in the Live Stream that was happening during the conference as well.
